A second flight in two days has been forced to ground in Shannon Airport for medical reasons.

On Sunday, an EL AL flight from Tel Aviv to Boston made an emergency landing in Shannon after a passenger fell ill and had to be brought to University Hospital Limerick for treatment.

It is not clear what condition the woman is in now, though RTÉ described the event as a ‘medical emergency.’ The woman is believed to be in her 30s.

The plane was West of Donegal when it was forced to make a sharp turn and land in Clare.

On Christmas Eve, a flight from Toronto to London was forced to stop at Shannon Airport after a 10-year-old girl died of a heart attack on board.
