Anyone hoping for another heatwave this weekend, we’ve got some bad news for you

Irish weather rain

There is no correct way to dress yourselves this weekend.

After that “unseasonable warmth” over the Bank Holiday weekend, we may have had too much too soon.

We’ve been spoiled, people.

We though summer had arrived and it was going to be all sunshine and ice-cream and cans by the canals from now until September.

But guess what?

Rain.

Rain rain rain.

According to Met Eireann, this coming weekend is going to be lousy with rain, while also maintaining (maint-raining? No, that’s terrible, we’ll come back to that) the relatively warm temperatures, so you get to soak whatever you’re wearing from the inside AND the outside.

Hooray?

Saturday will see something of a recovery in temperatures, back to between 12 and 14 degrees with light to moderate south to southeast winds. However, with low pressure nearby there will be frequent heavy showers.

Frequent heavy showers. Grim.

A similar day on Sunday, with a low pressure centre expected to be to the south of the country. There’ll be further showers, most frequent in the afternoon.

And the early prediction for the start of next week sees more of the same.

So we’ve got a solid week of sweating through our rain-coats again.
