As Storm Barbara hits Ireland hard, the Irish public are crying out for one intrepid RTÉ reporter
She goes by the name of Mannion, Teresa Mannion.
This time last year, Storm Frank was wreaking havoc across Ireland and by the looks of things outside this morning, it seems as if Storm Barbara is intent on having a similar effect this time around.
No sane person would want to stand out in pouring rain and winds of over 100 km/h in places, but it comes with the territory for news reporters, as Teresa Mannion so memorably demonstrated in Galway last year.
The weather has been fairly mild in recent weeks, but now that it’s taken a turn for the worse, the Irish people are crying out for one reporter in particular to instruct them not to take unnecessary journeys and not to take risks on treacherous roads.
Teresa, you’re the heroine the Irish public wants and needs right now…
I hope Teresa Mannion brings a good coat with her to work today #stormBarbara

Am I the only one who will be disappointed if @TeresaMannion does not report live from Salthill today? #stormBarbara ☔️☔️ pic.twitter.com/6XdSBZCfjA

Storm Barbara then. Will 'they' be getting that @TeresaMannion out for her annual water-boarding or will it be someone else's turn?

Alas, Teresa’s mind is currently occupied with her participation in Dancing with the Stars Ireland, which will be broadcast on RTÉ after Christmas.
#DancingWiththeStars I'm not sure this is a necessary journey but should be a laugh. One step at a time.... pic.twitter.com/2J2rsC4TCz

All the best Teresa; we’ll always have Galway after all…
