Gardaí issue witness appeal after assault and robbery in Cork

The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses in connection with a robbery incident that took place in Cork on Saturday (7 December).

Shortly before 3am, a man in his 20s was assaulted by a number of men while walking on Pouladuff Road.

The assailants stole the man’s wallet and mobile phone before leaving the scene.

The man was later brought to Cork University Hospital with non life-threatening injuries. He has since been discharged.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or anyone who was driving in the area between 2.30am and 3.15am on Saturday morning and who has dash cam footage to contact them.

They are particularly anxious to speak with a taxi driver that drove past the garage on Pouladuff Road and a man who was walking in the area at the time.
