At least two people killed and 14 shot in mass shooting at Florida nightclub

At least two people have been killed as a result of a mass shooting in a nightclub in the city of Fort Myers in Florida in the early hours of Monday morning.

According to NBC, the Fort Myers Police Department reported that at least two people were killed and at least 14 people were shot in a shooting which took place in the Club Blu nightclub.

The shooting is believed to have taken place shortly after midnight on Monday morning in the parking lot of Club Blu. Police officers arrived at the scene at approximately 12.30am and found a number of victims suffering from gunshot wounds.

At least two of the victims’ wounds were fatal, while the injuries suffered by approximately 14-16 others ranged from minor to life-threatening.

The victims of the shooting were transported to local hospitals in the area, while police have launched an investigation in an attempt to determine the identity of those responsible.

According to wptv.com, two further incidents occurred in Fort Myers in connection with the shooting at Club Blu. One person of interest has been detained as a result.
