Essential knowledge for anyone who enjoys a good carvery.

Who doesn’t love a carvery?

So simple yet so brilliant. A carvery really is something that the Irish just get.

Although everyone thinks that their local pub does the best carvery, not everyone can be right.

So KNORR have put hours of research into finding out where the best carvery really comes from, and here are the results.

Not only that, but they have separated it into two different categories: Great Carvery Hotel of the Year, and Great Carvery Pub of the Year.

Great Carvery Hotel of the Year Leinster – Whitford House Hotel, Wexford

Great Carvery Hotel of the Year Munster – Castle Hotel, Macroom, Cork

Great Carvery Hotel of the Year Connacht – Hodson Bay Hotel, Athlone, Roscommon

Great Carvery Hotel of the Year Ulster – Killyevlin Lakeside Hotel, Enniskillen, Fermanagh

Great Carvery Pub of the Year Leinster – Silken Thomas, Kildare

Great Carvery Pub of the Year Munster – Kirby’s Brogue Inn, Tralee, Kerry

Great Carvery Pub of the Year Connacht – The Trappers Inn, Castlegar, Galway

Great Carvery Pub of the Year Ulster – The Market Yard, Limavady, Derry

All of these finalists will now be entered into the final, where the two best carveries in Ireland will be decided.

Commenting on the KNORR Great Carvery provincial winners, Jim Reeves, Customer Director at Unilever Food Solutions said“The provincial champions have shown the importance of attention to detail, quality of ingredients and service when it comes to setting carveries apart.

“It’s superb to see carvery go from strength to strength every year. Our provincial winners should be commended on their endeavours and efforts towards a thriving carvery trade across the country.

“Thanks to all of the fantastic entries and we are very excited to see who will be crowned overall champions of Ireland for 2018.”
