Here are the best movies on TV this evening

movies on TV

It’s only Thursday.

A lot has happened already this week. For one thing, CNN has invaded homes across the country with their “Key Race Alerts” before showing us the exact same data as one hour ago.

We jest, its coverage has been excellent and informative during what can be a confusing election to follow in the US.

Although last night I did have a nightmare that I forgot to vote in Arizona, a state in the US where I neither live nor have the ability to vote.

But if you’re fed up with all the election talk, there are some – we say some, because there’s only a handful – movies on TV this evening which might be right up your street.

Commando – Film4 – 9pm

Arnie is out for revenge as his daughter is kidnapped.

Film features him killing many, many men.

Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters – Comedy Central – 9pm

Fresh from their encounter with the witch, the famous brother and sister combo have evolved to actively hunting down witches.

Gemma Arterton and Jeremy Renner are the stars in this film, which was eviscerated by critics.

Green Zone – Sony Movie Channel – 9pm

Matt Damon fights confusion and corruption in this post-Saddam Hussein Iraq-set thriller with typically frenetic direction from Paul Greengrass.

Bone Tomahawk – Film4 – 11.20pm

A really good western slash horror movie.

We’ve written extensively about it here, but in short, David Arquette wanders into a town, claiming that his partner was killed by a savage tribe of Native Americans.

After a number of people from the town go missing, Kurt Russell, Matthew Fox, Patrick Wilson and Richard Jenkins set out into the mountain range where the tribe is said to be hiding and save the kidnapped townsfolk.
