Gardaí issue public appeal for witnesses following fatal Dublin shooting

The shooting took place shortly before 7pm on Saturday evening.

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses following the fatal shooting that took place at Blakestown Cottages in Blanchardstown on Saturday 22 December.

Gardaí responded to a call and quickly arrived at the scene to discover the body of a man in his 30s who had been shot a number of times.

The man was found on the driveway of one of the cottages and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A murder investigation has been launched and an incident room has been set up in Blanchardstown Garda Station.

Gardaí are appealing to members of the public for assistance in respect of the following matters:

1. Gardaí wish to speak to anyone who was in the vicinity of Blakestown Cottages on the Blakestown Road in Hartstown Park and St. Peregrines GAA Club on Saturday between the hours of 5pm and 7pm, particularly vehicles with dashboard cameras.

2. Gardaí are appealing to trace the movements of a silver Volkswagen Jetta bearing the registration plate 06-MH-3192 from Tuesday 18 December until 7pm on Saturday.

3. The Volkswagen Jetta in question was later found burnt out at Rusheeney Crescent in Clonee at 7pm. Gardaí are appealing to anyone with information of seeing people fleeing from this car or any other suspicious activity in the Rusheeny area in the days leading up to this murder.
