Homenews

Nope, we can’t believe it either.

Boris Johnson has announced that he will not be running for the leadership of the Conservative Party, ruling out the possibility of him succeeding David Cameron as Prime Minister. During a speech in London today, at what was supposed to be the launch of his campaign to become the next Prime Minister, Johnson announced that he did not believe he could provide the leadership or unity required for either post. "Having consulted colleagues and in view of the circumstances in Parliament, I have concluded that person cannot be me," Johnson said. https://twitter.com/itvnews/status/748475669600940033 Johnson’s dramatic announcement came only hours after the Justice Secretary, Michael Gove, revealed that he would contest the leadership of the Conservative Party following David Cameron’s resignation. This was in the wake of the result of the Brexit referendum last week.
