Break out the sun lotion, this weekend is going to be a scorcher

Alan Loughnane

Sweat patches will be at a premium this weekend.

If you’ve been bitter because you’re been stuck in work all week during this recent good weather, well then do we have good news for you.

In a similar trend to last week, the bank holiday weekend is set to be a hot three days in Ireland so you’d better break out the sun tan lotion and a bucket of ice for your beer.

While there will be a risk of showers, particularly on Sunday and Monday, the temperature will remain high so you can simply take shelter from the rain for a few minutes and then return back to the inevitable returning sunshine.

Today will warm and sunny for the most part, with temperatures in the low 20’s around the country according to Met Éireann.

Tomorrow is when the real fun starts with temperatures reaching as high as 25 degrees with a risk of some showers but still plenty of sun.

Monday will be the worst of the three days with the potential of thundery showers spreading across the country in the afternoon. Temperatures will remain high and there will be periods of warm sunshine.

Might be time to head down to this place?
