JOE

A huge manhunt is underway.

Shots have been fired in Seine et Marne area east of Paris, according to breaking reports this morning.

TheLocal.fr is reporting a carjacking by two suspects, believed to be the Kouachi brothers, in the early hours of the morning before being chased by police.

French Police say they were involved in a chase on the N2 motorway with a stolen Peugeot 206 earlier this morning.

Latest reports say that the two suspects have taken hostages in a small office building in the village of Dammartin-en-Goële, near Charles de Gaulle airport. According to The Independent’s John Lichfield, two people may have been killed and 20 others injured prior to that separate incident.

Several helicopters are currently hovering over the area as the situation unfolds.

UPDATE…

According to several new reports from France, an armed man has taken “up to six” people hostage in a kosher grocery in Porte de Vincennes. This incident is separate to the first hostage situation currently ongoing in the village of Dammartin-en-Goële.

Other reports say two people have been killed in the hostage drama that is still unfolding.

Police in France have also released images of the two suspects, Hayat Boumeddiene (L) and Amedy Coulibaly (R), who are believed to be involved in the death of a policewoman earlier this week.
