Bruce Springsteen could return to Ireland, in 2024, to play a GAA stadium
The Boss and a big aul'd GAA stadium - a match made in heaven.
Coldplay are now playing three dates at Croke Park, next August and September, and Bruce Springsteen could be joining them by playing at another storied GAA ground.
There was a huge response to the Coldplay tickets going on sale, early today [Tuesday, July 25] and the band announced an additional date for September 1, next year.
There would be a similar flood of fans to ticket booking websites should a Bruce Springsteen return to Ireland be confirmed. It has been reported by The Irish Examiner that 'The Boss' may return to these shores in May 2024.
Two GAA venues under consideration for Bruce Springsteen gig
Springsteen, and the E Street Band, played three nights at the RDS, in Dublin, back in May. The singer is keen to get back over to Ireland as part of his 2024 tour, and Cork’s Páirc Uí Chaoimh and Nowlan Park, in Kilkenny, are being considered.
Munster Rugby announced, earlier today, that 30,000 tickets for their 'Clash of the Champions' with New Zealand side, Crusaders had already been sold. Welcoming Springsteen to the stadium, next year, would be another boost.
Earlier this year, Cork's hurlers and footballers were forced to play provincial games in Semple Stadium and Páirc Uí Rinn when Ed Sheeran was booked into Páirc Uí Chaoimh for gigs. Cork GAA has assured fans that a clash, between concerts and matches, would not happen again.
To date, Springsteen has played 31 concerts in Ireland since his debut performance here, at Slane Castle, in 1985. The New Jersey musician has played in nine different venues across the island of Ireland, having visited Slane (Meath), Dublin, Belfast, Kilkenny, Limerick and Cork, over the years.
