Cadbury issues warning to customers over “Easter Chocolate basket” scam

The scam message is being circulated through social media.

Cadbury has issued a warning to customers over an “Easter Chocolate basket” scam doing the rounds on social media.

It comes following reports of people receiving messages on Facebook and WhatsApp from their contacts with a link included, purporting to be a chance to receive a free Cadbury Easter Chocolate Basket.

In a statement to JOE, Cadbury confirmed it was aware of the scam and urged customers not to interact or share personal information through the link.

“We’ve been made aware of circulating posts on social media, claiming to offer consumers a free Easter Chocolate basket,” it said.

“We can confirm that this has not been generated by us and would urge consumers not to interact or share personal information through the post.

“Customer security is our priority and we’re working with the relevant organisations to ensure this is resolved.”
