The two presenters officially debut as co-anchors this evening.

RTÉ has shared the first official pictures of the new RTÉ Six One news presenters, Keelin Shanley and Caitríona Perry ahead of their debut tonight (8 January).

This week will also mark the first outside broadcast for the programme in 2018, when the Six One News is presented live from the BT Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition on Wednesday 10 January. Perry will be meeting with pupils and teachers taking part during the broadcast, while Shanley reports on the main stories of the day from the studio in Donnybrook.

The change comes after Bryan Dobson ended his role as co-anchor – a position he held since 1996.

In a statement, RTÉ have also noted that the presenters will alternate seating positions in the studio each day.

Keelin Shanley and Caitríona Perry will make their debut tonight at 6.01pm on RTÉ One and RTÉ News Now.
