Three men were arrested following the chase.
A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána has confirmed that three men were arrested after pursuit by Gardaí at around midnight on Friday (14 December).
Gardaí on routine patrol attempted to stop a vehicle in the Miltown area of Dublin on at approximately 12am.
According to Gardaí, the vehicle failed to stop and a short pursuit ensued. The vehicle came to a stop in the Dundrum Road area. No injuries were sustained.
Upon searching the vehicle, Gardaí found what they believed to be cannabis as well as an iron bar.
The substance is now being tested. The driver, a male in his 20s, and the two passengers of the car were arrested and taken to Blackrock Garda Station.
The driver was charged in relation to the incident and was due before Dun Laoghaire District Court on Friday morning.
The two passengers were released without charge. The vehicle involved in the incident was seized for no insurance.
