€135,000 worth of cash seized by Gardaí in Dublin raid

Drugs, a van and two motorcycles were also seized in a follow-up operation after four men were arrested in connection with a firearm-related incident in Wexford on Thursday.

Detectives have seized an estimated €135,000 in cash following the search of a house in Crumlin, Dublin 12.

The search was part of a follow-up operation after four men were arrested in Wexford following a firearm-related incident.

On Thursday morning, four men entered a commercial garage in Clonroche and threatened staff members with what witnesses described as a handgun.

The men – (one aged in his 30s, two in their 40s and one in his 50s) fled the scene in a silver Hyundai car and were later intercepted and arrested by members of the Emergency Response Unit (ERU) on the M7 near Naas.

They are currently being detained in various Garda stations in Wexford.

Across Friday and Saturday, detective units from Crumlin and Sundrive Road Garda stations along with the assistance of local uniform members, the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, the ERU and Armed Support Unit (ASU) conducted a search at a house in the Windmill Road area of Crumlin.

During the course of the search, cash of various currencies and denominations was seized with an approximate value € 135,000.

A quantity of cannabis – pending analysis –  a van and two motorcycles were also seized during the course of the search.

No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing.
