We’re in for some very cold nights this week (yes, that means minus temperatures)

Weather

Aw, come on.

Just as it seemed that we’d turned a bit of a corner with the weather, this week’s forecast from Met Éireann is pulling us back down to earth.

Overall, the week is going to cold and showery — with the possibility of wintry showers. Monday night will “be cold with lowest temperatures of zero to three degrees and a widespread frost. Moderate winds will be west to northwesterly.”

Highest temperatures will stay low, between six and eight degrees. Tuesday night will be a similar night to Monday, with temperatures in the range of zero to three degrees expected once more.

Things are set to get even more bleak on Wednesday, with “cold and frosty with lowest temperatures falling to around -1 to +1 degrees but cloud will increase in the west towards morning. ”

You can read Met Éireann’s forecast for the week in full here.

By the sounds of it, hot water bottle season is back in full force.
