A failed train at the Sallins station caused havoc for commuters on Sunday night.
Irish Rail passengers on a number of different routes were affected by delays of up to three hours on Sunday night due to mechanical difficulties experienced by a train on the Heuston/Tralee line.

Irish Rail services out of Heuston Station were affected as a result and passengers complained of being stuck on trains for a number of hours before all services eventually resumed late last night.
All services back moving after earlier disruption. Delays in the region of 3 hours. Twitter will be manned again from 07:30 in the morning

The Irish Rail Twitter account was busy fielding queries from affected customers throughout Sunday evening and passengers seeking a refund have been told to refer to the passenger charter on the Irish Rail website.
