Gardaí treating death of man in Cork as suspicious, issue witness appeal

Gardaí at Anglesea Street in Cork are appealing for information following the discovery of the body of a man in his 50s in a house on the Bandon Road.

The man, aged his in 50s, was found by Gardaí on Saturday morning (7 September) shortly after 11.30am.

He has not been named.

Investigating officers are anxious to speak with anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the Bandon Road / McCurtain Villas area of Cork city between Monday 2 September and Saturday 7 September.

Anyone who may have relevant information and/or dash cam footage is asked to make contact with the incident room at Anglesea Street on 021 452 2000.

Alternatively, people may contact the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.

The body of the deceased was removed on Saturday evening to the morgue at Cork University Hospital.

A post-mortem examination is scheduled to be carried out by the Assistant State Pathologist Dr Linda Mulligan on Sunday.
