It follows the individual’s arrest in 2020.
A woman has been formally charged by Gardaí in relation to an investigation focusing on the misappropriation of funds at a Credit Union over a seven-year period.
The woman, who is aged in her 60s, misappropriated funds to the amount of €1.2 million between the years of 2009 and 2016 at a branch located in north Dublin.
She appeared before Balbriggan District Court on Thursday morning (7 July), having first been arrested in December of 2020 on suspicion of offences contrary to the Criminal Justice (Theft and Fraud Offences) Act, 2001.
Gardaí noted at the time that the arrest represented “significant development” in a long-standing investigation into fraudulent activity in the financial institution.
