‘She was the go-to woman’
Daniel O’Donnell has spoke out about the loss of his sister who passed away last year.
The legendary singer’s sister, Kathleen, passed away suddenly last February from a suspected heart attack.
Kathleen, who was the go-to woman in the O’Donnell household, was the sister of Daniel, Margo, Jamesie, and John Bosco.
Speaking to the Irish Independent over the weekend, Daniel said: “Kathleen died suddenly last year, which was a huge shock to us.
“When my mother died, Kathleen was next in line. They were similar kind of people. She was the go-to woman, like my mother before her.”
Kathleen’s death came just months after the death of Daniel’s mother-in-law, Marion who died in September 2022.
Daniel broke the news of his Marion’s death on social media, writing: “It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Majella’s mother Marion. Marion died last night surrounded by her family in St Mary’s nursing home in Galway.
“I was blessed to have her as my mother-in-law. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.”
Daniel described Marion as a ‘beautiful person’ who was referred to as ‘a Lady’.
