The award-winning duo will now broadcast in the slot vacated by Anton Savage in December.

The Dermot and Dave show on Today FM will be moved from its 12pm-2.30pm slot to the 9am-12pm slot vacated by Anton Savage following his departure from the station last month.

Today FM announced on Tuesday that the show, hosted by Dermot Whelan and Dave Moore, will move to an earlier slot on weekday mornings and that a new lunchtime show will be announced in the coming weeks.

Speaking about the new show, Dermot Whelan commented: “We’re very excited about taking over this slot on Today FM. It’s a very natural fit for us and the bigger available audience means even more fantastic listeners to get to know. For us, radio is all about the listener and we can’t wait to get stuck in later this month.”

Dave Moore said: “Our show is about having fun and that’s what we’ll fill the airwaves with. 2017 is going to be huge for us with the Ah, Sure Lookit Tour and, now, this new opportunity to bring our radio show to more people. We’re thrilled!”

As well as winning Media Personality of the Year in the JOE Men of the Year awards for the last two years running (see the 2015 acceptance speech below), Dermot and Dave’s show won the General Music Programme category at the 2016 PPI Awards, where Dermot Whelan took home the Music Presenter of the Year award.
