Disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein has died by suicide in prison ahead of facing trial on sex trafficking charges, according to a number of reports from the US.
The New York Times have said that his body was found on Saturday morning.
The 66-year-old, who was being held without bail in a Manhattan jail, was accused of having sex with girls as young as 14.
Epstein was arrested on 6 July and charged with sex trafficking and conspiracy to traffic minors for sex.
Prosecutors allege that he brought as many as 40 girls under 18 to his mansion for the purposes of sex.
Epstein was awaiting trial on the charges.
