This is truly disgusting.
A dolphin in Argentina has died after being scooped out of the water to take selfies with beachgoers.
The dolphin was of the Franciscana variety, of which there are only 30,000 left in the world. Franciscana dolphins, also known as La Plata dolphins, cannot survive outside of the water for very long as their bodies overheat.
Unfortunately, that is exactly what happened when revellers took the dolphin from its home to pose for pictures with it.
The dolphin was then left on the sand after it died.
The Argentine Wildlife Foundation issued a statement reminding people of the danger that can come to dolphins if removed from the water and a request for people to help save these dolphins, as ‘Every Franciscana counts now.’
