It was a great place to pick up some last-minute essentials before travelling.

Dublin Airport has confirmed that the Boots store in Terminal 1 will be shutting its doors from today (31 October).

The closure comes as the beauty and health retailer's contract to operate its shop in the airport terminal is expiring.

A Dublin Airport spokesperson said in a statement that there had been discussions about the possibility of keeping Boots in T1 open beyond the end of its current contract.

They added, however, that an agreement could not ultimately be reached.

The Dublin Airport spokesperson also said that work will begin shortly on a "reconfiguration" of some of the shops in the T1 airside area and that "exciting" new additions to Terminal 1 will be announced "very soon".

The Boots store in Terminal 2 of the airport will remain open and will be unaffected by any of these changes.
