Attacks in Dublin under scrutiny.

The news follows intense media scrutiny surrounding a spate of attacks throughout the capital last week.

The most high-profile of the incidents involved an American tourist, Stephen Termini, who was attacked on Store Street in the city centre on July 19 and suffered eye injuries.

Mr Termini was taken to Beaumont Hospital where he remains. The 57-year-old has awakened from a coma, however, it is still too early to tell whether his vision will be permanently affected by his injuries.

Three teenagers face charges related to the attack.
