Dust off the CV, Dublin Fire Brigade are looking for new recruits

Dublin Fire Brigade has launched a recruitment drive, inviting people to apply for the role of firefighter.

Dublin City Council, on behalf of local authorities, invites applications from suitably qualified individuals from all backgrounds “that enjoy being part of a team, possess a strong sense of duty and are seeking a challenging but rewarding career.”

As such, the Dublin Fire Brigade are looking to recruit people who:

  • Have the ability to work in a disciplined environment
  • Work well in a high pressure and physically demanding role
  • Can work with others in a team
  • Are willing to work in a 24/7, 365 environment

Upon qualification, candidates will take up a firefighter position in one of the 12 full time fire stations located across the capital.

As the job posting notes, the role of firefighter is a varied one, and includes the following details and responsibilities:

  • Promoting community fire safety
  • Resolving emergencies (fire and rescue)
  • Resolving emergency ambulance cases
  • Developing local awareness
  • Promoting health and safety
  • Continued personal development
  • Managing resources and information
