Enda Kenny confirms that he will announce a General Election tomorrow

We don’t, however, have a confirmed date just yet.

Taoiseach Enda Kenny has confirmed that he will travel to Áras an Uachtaráin to seek a dissolution of the Dáil, with a view to announcing a General Election tomorrow. Kenny confirmed to MidWest Radio this afternoon that he has already told Cabinet of his intention to announce the General Election tomorrow, although he would not be drawn on speculation that the election will take place on Friday, February 26. It is believed that Kenny has agreed with Tanaiste Joan Burton that the election will take place on that date, but, in any case, we'll find out soon enough.
