A capital victory in the capital.

The country is abuzz with the news that one lucky individual is now a whopping €175,475,380 richer following Tuesday night’s EuroMillions draw.

The winning numbers were 1, 8, 18, 19, and 39, with the bonus numbers 7 and 9.

On Wednesday morning, the National Lottery confirmed that the unnamed winner had made contact.

A Lotto spokesperson said that the ticket holder will now be guided through the prize claims process.

“We can confirm we have heard from the holder of the winning ticket but are not in a position to give any more details at the moment,” said the spokesperson.

“We hope to be in a position to give details on where the winning ticket was sold later today.”

The record-breaking victory shatters the €115 million won by Limerick woman Dolores McNamara in July of 2005.

It marks the 14th Irish EuroMillions win since the game was launched in the county back in 2004.

“We are delighted the winner has made contact,” beamed National Lottery CEO, Dermot Griffin.

“This is an incredible win for an Irish EuroMillions player! And a record win for the National Lotttery – we are thrilled.”
