A Family in Galway are pleading for help after a devastating house fire just days before Christmas.
The blaze took place on December 16 in their Kiltullagh home which destroyed their home and belongings destroyed, and resulted in the death of their beloved pet dog, Daisy.
Close family members set up a GoFundMe, pleading with the public for their help, as the family look to rebuild their lives.
The original goal of the GoFundMe was €2,000, but thanks to the public’s generosity, has reached €4,300.
The campaign stated: “We want to help a very close family member after a devastating house fire. On the afternoon of 16th of December, our close family member’s house was destroyed by a house fire.
“The entire house has been damaged, all contents and their belongings have been destroyed and will need to be replaced,” they continued.
The family members statement also detailed the loss of their family pet.
They wrote: “They have also lost their cherished dog Daisy, in this devastating fire.
“We would ask if you could help in anyway to assist them with rebuilding their lives over the next couple of months.
“Any help would be really appreciated especially as this has happened just before Christmas,” they concluded.
