The weather star said goodbye to viewers on Sunday.
Fans have been left shocked after the departure of RTÉ star Joanna Donnelly after 10 years with the broadcaster.
\Viewers were left stunned when the popular forecaster ended her segment saying: “And that is my last forecast. Goodnight and goodbye.”
Donnelly announced her departure from Met Éireann, saying goodbye to viewers on Sunday night after nearly a decade with RTÉ.
Following the broadcast, the presenter explained her reason for leaving on her Instagram story.
“I didn’t want to leave without saying goodbye.

“I’ve been on the weather forecast nearly 10 years I think at this stage between training and being operational.”
The meteorologist said she has ‘gotten so much’ from her time with Met Éireann and RTÉ, namely her appearance on Dancing with the Stars.
Commenting on her why she left, she continued: “I do want to say that my leaving has nothing to do with my work product.
“I’ve always given the very best I could possibly give to the weather forecast.
“So I hope anybody that’s wondering what happened, it wasn’t the forecast.”
Donnelly, instead, said she felt it was time for a new ‘chapter’.
Fans shared their disappointment over the news.
One wrote: “Joanna Donnelly a familiar face of the weather forecast will be missed by a nation who grew to know her from RTE Wishing her the best for the future in what ever path she takes.”
“I was wondering did I hear her right, looks like I did,” commented another.
