Fontaines DC add new Slane date due to demand

Homenews

A new date has been added for Fontaines at Slane Castle due to huge demand.

Tickets for pre-sale are available today from 10am for a second gig on June 27th, 2027.

General sale starts tomorrow at 10am.

Fontaines DC headlined and closed out the Electric Picnic main stage with their announcement of a gig at Slane Castle as part of their world tour next year.

The iconic venue will see the Dublin rock outfit supported by guests Hayley Williams, Damien Dempsey, and Madra Salach.

The Fontaines DC show marked the end of a very wet Electric Picnic, with torrential rain plaguing the festival. While others voiced concerns about over crowding.

EP owner Melvin Benn was asked by a local newspaper reporter at a press conference about whether there should be more crowd control for the festival, which has increased its capacity by 15% since 2023, Benn initially denied there was any issue.

The Festival Republic managing director said: “Quite frankly, I don’t think it could have gone better.”

He later acknowledged there had been a crowd collapse when thousands of people tried to enter a tent.

“I don’t know why the crowd collapsed at that point, but the moment that it did, we stopped it. We had medics there. We had security there, and we stopped Armand van Helden going on stage. He hadn’t even got on stage at that point in time," he said.
