An investigation is underway after the body was discovered in a Sligo home at the weekend.
Gardaí in Sligo are investigating the death of a man in his 20s after his body was discovered over the weekend.
The young man was found dead after 8am on Sunday morning (November 23) at a property on Farmhill Road in Sligo Town.
The body of the deceased was removed from the scene and taken to Sligo University Hospital’s mortuary where a post-mortem is expected to take place, the results of which will determine the man’s cause of death.
All circumstances around his death are being considered, however, the incident is being treated as a ‘tragic accident’ with no foul play suspected.
Gardaí commented on the investigation: “Gardaí in Sligo are investigating all the circumstances following the discovery of a body on Saturday morning, 23rd November 2024.
“The body of the man, aged in his 20s, was located on the Farmhill Road shortly after 8.00 am. He was removed from the scene to the mortuary at Sligo University Hospital.
“A post-mortem examination has since taken place, the results of which are not being released for operational reasons,” they concluded.
