Gardaí arrest four teenagers following investigation into a sexual assault in Wexford

Gardaí continue to appeal for any potential witnesses to the incident.

All four males (three juveniles and one adult) arrested in relation to this investigation have been released without charge. Files will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Gardaí investigating a serious sexual assault in Wexford have arrested four male teenagers (one adult and three juveniles) in relation to the incident.

All four have been arrested today (Thursday 3 October) on suspicion of rape, following an investigation into the incident, which occurred on Sunday 28 July.

Gardaí at Gorey say the assault took place at approximately 12.15am in the Burrow area of Courtown Harbour in Gorey.

All four males are currently being detained in Garda stations in the south east under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1994.

Gardaí continue to appeal to anyone who may have been in the Burrow area in Courtown Harbour between 10pm on Saturday 27 July and 3am on Sunday 28 July.
