Gardaí catch and fine the driver of this Ferrari that’s parked in the disabled zone

Do the crime, pay the fine.

After pulling over a car that had an actual horse inside, the Gardaí continued their interesting streak of policing criminal offences after an officer fined a Dublin motorist €150 for illegally parking their Ferrari in a disabled zone.

According to a recent study, the number of fixed charge penalties for illegally parking in disabled spaces has risen as much as 20-fold in parts of the country.

For example, last year, there were 284 fines issued in Dublin’s south inner city for parking in disabled spaces without a permit. Compare this to 2016, that figure was just 36.

These findings coincide with a new incentive that’s being pursued by the Garda’s traffic division, Operation Enable.

Essentially, the Gardaí will be clamping down on any motorists that they find to be illegally using disabled bays for parking.

Well, the initiative seems to be working after their official Twitter account released the following statement about a white Ferrari that was illegally parked.

“A magnificent looking vehicle like this will draw attention wherever it goes, especially when it’s parked in a disabled bay without a permit! Owner returned in time to avoid the tow-truck but will receive a fixed charge notice for €150.”

If they’re able to drive a Ferrari, we’re certain that they can pay the fine.

This being said, it might serve as a warning for anyone that’s a little bit cheeky when it comes to their parking habits.
