An Garda Síochána has confirmed that three men were removed from a premises in the north of Cork on Sunday, following searches related to suspected human trafficking.
In a statement issued today, Gardaí said that two premises in the Charleville/Mallow area were searched on foot of a warrant. 24 adults were present and interviewed across the two locations.
"Three adult males, who it is suspected were recently trafficked into Ireland, were removed from the properties and are receiving assistance," the statement said.
The search took place with the assistance of the Armed Support Unit, the Southern Region Dog Unit and Gardaí from across North Cork Division. No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
