A number of road closures have already been announced.

Gardaí have warned drivers that there will be severe traffic delays in and around Dublin city centre on Wednesday 15 January, due to a large scale protest set to take place that afternoon.

Members of the farming sector are expected to converge on the city centre, with approximately 400 tractors anticipated to arrive in the city from all around Ireland in the early afternoon.

As a result, this will impact traffic from 10am, with the following road closures coming into effect at that time:

  • Kildare Street
  • Molesworth Street
  • St Stephens Green South
  • Merrion Square West/South/East
  • Merrion Street Upper

Additionally, the following arrangements will be in place:

  • East bound traffic on Kevin Street will be diverted up New Bride Street
  • St Stephens Green North and East will only remain open for public transport from 2pm

As the tractors are set to arrive at around 12 noon, traffic delays are also expected on the following main arterial routes into Dublin city centre: N2, N3, N4, N7, N81.

Bus corridors will not be impacted, and Gardaí are advising all commuters to avail of public transport where possible.

Gardaí have stated that they will be continuing to liaise closely with those organising the protest, while traffic updates will be provided on the @gardatraffic Twitter account.
