Gardaí launch investigation following a stabbing in Cork

A man has been brought to Cork University Hospital following the attack.

Gardaí are investigating an assault incident that occurred on Glenryan Road, Gurranabraher on Friday 16 May, at approximately 11pm on Thursday night.

A man in his 30s received a number of apparent stab wounds and was brought to Cork University Hospital.

His injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.

The scene is currently being preserved for technical examination.

Gardaí arrested a man in his 20s at the scene and he was brought to Gurranabraher Garda Station where he is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

This incident comes four days after a separate stabbing took place in Knocknaheeney in Cork.
