Gardaí release additional details of Drogheda shooting in attempt to bring witnesses forward

An Garda Síochána are looking for witnesses to a shooting that occurred in Drogheda on Thursday, at approximately 7.50pm. Multiple shots were fired in the Termon Abbey area of the town.

Later on Thursday evening, a man presented himself to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital suffering from non-life threatening gunshot wounds. He has since been released from hospital.

Gardaí have published information about two cars that were seen driving away from the scene; a grey Peugeot 407 with the registration 07-C-2620, and a grey Honda Accord with the registration 05-D-13539.

After the incident, both cars were found on fire in different locations.

Gardaí have also noted that at approximately 11.40pm and 11.50pm last night, two houses in the Moneymore area of Drogheda were attacked and criminal damage was caused. No people were injured in the attacks.

Superintendent Andrew Watters of Drogheda Garda Station has specified that Gardaí wish to speak to anyone who was in the Elmwood Close, Termon Abbey area between 7pm and 8pm or any person driving in the same area and who may have dash cam footage.

They are also looking for anyone who was near the Carstown railway bridge, Carstown, Termonfeckin area between 8pm and 8.30pm, which is where the Honda Accord was discovered.

Similarly, they are seeking assistance from anyone who in the Starinagh, Collon area between 8pm and 8.45pm or any person driving in that area or on local roads between Termon Abbey, Drogheda and Starinagh who may have dashcam footage. This is where the Peugeot was found.
