Gardaí are looking for witnesses.

Gardaí investigating a fatal shooting in Meath, in which a 39-year-old man was killed, have released details pertaining to two vehicles as part of their appeal for witnesses.

In a statement issued on Friday afternoon, Gardaí specify that they are appealing to anyone who may have seen a Peugeot Bipper Van (08-D-124410) between 27 September and 4 November.

A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána confirmed that the van was purchased in south Dublin on 27 September 2019. Investigators say that afterwards it was parked in the vicinity of Castlemartin Close and Eastham Close between 3 October and 4 November.

Gardaí are also eager to speak to anyone who may have seen a Ford Fiesta (06-D-80706) in the vicinity of Eastham Court, Eastham Road or the general Bettystown area in the days and weeks leading up to 4 November. In particular, Gardaí want to talk to anyone who saw the car at around midnight between Monday and Tuesday.

The Ford Fiesta was later found burnt out at The Grange, Ballyboughal, Dublin following the fatal shooting incident.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Ashbourne Garda station on 01 8010600 or the Garda Confidential line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station
