Slow down Tommy

This is nuts.

Ahead of the June bank holiday weekend, the Guards have highlighted the issue of speeding on Irish roads and some of the figures they’ve released are startling.

They’ve done an analysis of the high speed detections around the country and the highest speed recorded was in Laois where someone was doing 195km/h in a 120km/h zone.

The next highest was recorded in Donegal where a motorist was caught doing 189km/h in a 100km/h zone.

There were two more reckless cases highlighted, a motorist was clocked travelling at 140km/h in Dublin where a maximum limit of 50km/h applies.

The other one was in Kerry when a driver was caught doing 178km/h where the limit is 60km/h.

The gardaí has launched an enforcement campaign for the June bank holiday weekend so take it easy and stick to the limits if you are on the road.
