€8,000 worth of MDMA powder was recovered from a car on the M6 Dublin to Galway road by Gardai yesterday evening.
According to Galway Bay FM, Gardai stopped a car travelling westbound on the M6 at Cappataggle at approximately 5pm yesterday evening as part of a an organised investigation by the Garda Divisional Drugs Unit.
The Gardai say that the drugs were destined to be sold during RAG week in Galway, which takes place next week.
Two foreign national men in their 30s and 40s were arrested and taken to Galway Garda Station for questioning and were later released without charge.
