Gardaí seize variety of weapons, attack-dog suit and pitbull in Dublin

A large number of offensive weapons were seized as part of an ongoing operation in the Ballymun area, Dublin.

Among the weapons that were seized was machetes, hatchets, knives, metal poles and nun-chucks.

A quantity of mobile phones, approximately €1,000 in cash, and drug related paraphernalia were also seized.

A heavy attack-dog training-suit was discovered and a pit bull dog was also seized from the property by a DCC Dog Warden.

Additional searches of a vehicle attached to one of the properties resulted in the discovery of suspected crack cocaine (subject to analysis) to the value of approximately €750.

A man in his 30s was arrested and detained at Ballymun Garda Station under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

He has since been released without charge and file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Investigations are ongoing.
