“Duffman is thrusting in the direction of the problem! Oh, yeah!”
The most famous fictional beer in the world is set to become a reality after 21st Century Fox announced that they would be creating their own official Duff beer.
Yeah we know that you can buy Duff beer online, or in South America with your pals, but this is a real official Duff beer, the other versions are are just cheap versions that some chancer has stuck a label on.
The media giant has spent years in courts battling to get these other versions of the beer from countries like Chile, Germany and Australia off the shelves for copyright reasons and they’ve finally succeeded.
While the brand is already well known from the popular TV show, the producers are planning a subtle packaging with no obvious references to the Simpsons.
It’s obvious why Fox are branching out into this previously ‘untapped’ market, the desire for the beer is there and who doesn’t want to say that they’ve tried a pint of Duff beer?
The brew is being described by the president of the company’s consumer product division as “a very good balance of flavour and refreshment to it. It’s fairly deep golden in color. It’s got a hint of fruit to it. It’s got a caramel aromatic to it.”
Duff will first be sold in Chile, ground zero for the counterfeit versions of the drink, but plans are in place to bring the product to Europe from next year.
Rumours of plans to bring the original Duffman out of retirement to promote the beer are yet to be confirmed just yet, but we can always dream.
