Dublin Fire Brigade were dealing with a fire before dawn on Gardiner Street in Dublin City Centre this morning.
A tweet published by the team shortly after 7am this morning said: “We’ve a number of units at a premises fire on Gardiner Street. BA crews committed. The fire is now extinguished, however crews will remain on scene to vent the building and damp down.”
The tweet also warned to expect traffic delays as a result of the incident.

The blaze has forced the Head Office of Carrolls Irish Gifts to close for the day. The company confirmed that nobody had been injured in the fire, but that it had taken no fewer than five units of the Fire Brigade to get it under control.
It is not yet clear what started the fire.

Carrolls Irish Gifts have a dozen locations in Dublin and 16 across Ireland in total.
