Here’s your chance to choose Ireland’s best burger

JOE

Hmmm. Burgers.

Everyone loves burgers. The humble burger has become a culinary and cultural icon, and rightly so. Who could forget that classic discussion in Pulp Fiction about burgers?

We all have our favourite burger. Maybe it’s a fast food chain special, a gourmet version from your favourite hipster joint or just a classic quarter pounder from your local chipper. Well, now you could have your say on who gets voted the best burger in Ireland.

Ireland’s National Burger Festival is currently taking place in venues throughout Ireland. It’s running until 28 January and there are burger-related events taking place across the country in bars, restaurants, cafes, butchers and more.

Over 90 venues have signed up so the chances are that there’s an event taking place near you. Each participating venue has a chance of having their signature burger declared “Ireland’s Best Burger” so the stakes are high. The public can vote for their favourite burger with the hashtag #BurgerFest so the power is yours.

It’s a big responsibility but your vote could help your favourite burger get national recognition and the respect that it deserves. Do it for the parish!

You can find out whether your local burger joint or favourite restaurant is involved by logging on to the National Burger Festival website. It’s not too late for venues that want to get in on the action to sign up. Entry is just €95 and they can sign up on the website to enter the race to claim the best burger title.
