Here’s what the weather looks like this coming week

Weather

After that glorious weekend, here’s what’s in store.

Despite the fact that Met Éireann issued rainfall weather warnings for 11 counties this weekend, the majority of Ireland was basking in sunshine as the welcome weather conditions continued.

On that note, here’s what’s expected on the weather front for the coming few days.

Tonight will be warm and dry for most, however showers in the southeast of the country will continue. The showers though will be local but they could cause some thunder.

These conditions are expected to ease off as clear spells develop. The lowest temperatures are expected to be between 9- 14 C and it will be coolest over Ulster.

With regards to Monday, there’s going to be a good deal of cloud overall but a few sunny spells will break through. It’s expected to be dry in most places but a few light showers will occur in the west and northwest. Top temperatures generally 15 to 19 C, although if you’re living in the south, it could hit 20 C. The lucky divils.

This being said, a spell of wet and windy weather is due in off the Atlantic midweek and that should bring an end to the recent warm spell.

Periods of wet weather, interspersed with brighter more showery conditions, are expected with temperatures reverting to the norm.

Tuesday should be mainly dry day, with a mix of cloudy periods and sunny spells. Temperatures ranging from 15 to 17 C, in western and northern areas, to between 18 and 20 C., elsewhere.

Wednesday should be exactly the same with initial sunshine, best in the eastern half of the country. Sadly, the warm spell will end later in the day with increasing cloud throughout the course of the day with rain and strong southerly winds expected to develop along the Atlantic by early afternoon.

The wet and windy conditions will become widespread across the country later in the day with rain expected to last into the night. Top temperatures in the mid to high teens, possibly 20 or 21 C., in eastern areas prior to the rain.

Thursday should start with bright, fresh, sunny and breezy conditions but be wary of scattered showers.

As for Friday and the weekend, it’s expected to be fresh with normal temperatures for this time of year. Some dry bright periods at times, but showers too and with some wet and windy episodes also.
