One man has been arrested in connection with the seizure.
One man has been arrested after Gardaí based at Store Street in Dublin seized €140,000 worth of heroin – pending analysis – on Monday, 30 December.
The man was arrested following a stop-and-search operation conducted in the Arbour Place area of Dublin 7 at approximately 3.10pm on Monday afternoon.
Plain-clothes Gardaí on patrol in the vicinity observed four individuals “acting suspiciously” in a vehicle, according to a Garda spokesperson.
The vehicle was subsequently stopped in the Arbour Hill area resulting in the four individuals in question fleeing the scene.
A bag containing a large quantity of heroin was seized.
One man in his 20s was arrested and is currently being detained at Store Street Garda Station under Section 2 of the Drugs Trafficking Act, 1996.
Investigations are ongoing.
