No it’s not an April Fools.

Out of seemingly nowhere, the awful news has just emerged that the Tommy, Hector, and Laurita podcast is coming to an end due to scheduling conflicts.

Confirming the news on Instagram, the trio paid thanks to all of those who have tuned in over the years but said that their lives were now too busy to keep going with the podcast.

The announcement, which was made via four posts, reads: “Tommy, Hector, and Laurita have made the difficult decision to close the Henhouse podcast door for good.

“This wonderful podcast started during the pandemic when all three had clear work schedules and although it has ben hugely successful and a wonderful experience for all involved, it became tougher to find time to record together allowing for each of their individual careers and schedules.

“Thank you for listening. The Henhouse Team.”

In another post, Tommy himself penned: “Thank you so much for listening to us over the past few years and a thousand thank you’s to Hector and Laurita for making me laugh more than anybody else has ever.

“It was a wild and brilliant trip. See ye down the road for a few morning pints!

“Comhrá Abú… grá mór, meas mór, gáire an mhór… Tommy.”

Hector said: “I just want to say a big Thank You for listening in to our conversations down in the Hen House over the last few years.

“I’ve had some of the best laughs with Tommy and Laurita on this podcast, in tears with giddiness and craic, we have had ups and downs and stories, loads and loads of stories.

“Thanks to Yvonne, Joe and SwanMcG.”

And Laurita wrote: “It’s been such a fun few years doing the podcast with two of my greatest pals. We have had so many laughs together and so glad that we had you alongside us enjoying it as much as we did.

“From recording in the Hen House to getting creamy pints in so many beautiful old bars across the West, it has been nothing but a joy with Tommy and Hector.

“Thanks to everyone who made the podcast a success and to Joe, Yvonne and all at SwanMcG for keeping us between the ditch. This may not be the last you hear from me, or from Audrey… watch this space, Laurita.”

End of an era.
