Ireland, being small, must have only one Tommy Walsh in the country according to Irene from Home and Away…
Actress Lynne McGranger, who plays Irene Roberts in the popular soap, tweeted local Ballybunion man Tommy Walsh thinking he was Tommy Walsh the former Sydney Swans player.

We’ve a reputation in Ireland that everyone knows everyone and this story does nothing to discredit this as Tommy one knew exactly who she had intended to tweet.
Tommy, the gentleman, replied to the wayward celebrity saying it was great to hear from her, but suggested she may be looking for a different Tommy Walsh.

Typical of Ireland a few cheeky lads got in on the joke, tweeting Lynne to rub in her mistake, but Irene being Irene, she took the gibes in good spirits.
